Promoting a Smoke Free Workplace

In the United States one of the biggest priorities for businesses is creating a smoke free workplace. This is important because, many studies have been released that show the connection between second hand smoke and a wide variety of health problems like cancer.

Electronic Cigarettes

Employers that are trying to help their employees stop smoking should encourage them to start using electronic cigarettes. One eCig contains a small battery, cartridge of liquid nicotine and atomizer. When a smoker inhales from the eCig they will be breathing in mist of liquid nicotine that goes directly into their blood stream. Smokeless cigarette safety is simple and easy in or out of the workplace.

Exercise

Once employees start using eCigs the next thing that the average employer can do is encourage their employees to start exercising.

Most people want to exercise but can’t afford a gym membership. The solution to this problem is for employers to pay for their employees gym memberships with a local gym in their area. Many gyms offer discounted rates for large corporations and a gym membership goes a long way in helping people to stay healthy and be more productive in their work.

Diet

Employers can encourage their employees to start eating better by placing vending machines on the premises that have healthy snacks and even consider hiring a nutritionist to come in at least once a month to speak with their employees about nutrition.
